WHY CHILDREN SHOULD EAT BREAKFAST

Children who eat breakfast are up to twice as likely to do well at school, a study has revealed. Researchers studied 5,000 primary pupils and found a “significant link” between eating breakfast, whether at home or school, and getting above average scores on Key Stage 2 assessments. Dr Graham Moore, who was part of the Cardiff University team, said: “The odds of scoring above average was between 50% and 100% higher if any breakfast was eaten. “There is also a link between a healthy breakfast and doing well.”
