Meet Kogi-born Dr Salamat, First Female to be Certified a Neuro-surgeon in West Africa
Dr. Salamat Ahuoiza Aliyu is a 35-year- old neuro-surgeon at National Hospital, Abuja.
She is the first indigenous-trained female neuro-surgeon in Nigeria and is also the first female to be certified a neuro-surgeon in West Africa.
Mrs Aliyu, who hails from Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State, was born in Ilorin, Kwara State, where she had most of her education up to the university level.
